Waterjet cutting machines use a CNC-controlled high-pressure stream, normally with abrasive for hard materials, to follow complex two-dimensional or angled toolpaths. They are considered when a fabricator needs internal cut-outs, curves, inlays or mixed geometry that conventional saw cutting cannot complete efficiently. Selection should begin with the material, thickness, largest drawing, required edge condition and intended daily workload. The cutting head, axis arrangement, pump, abrasive system, controller, nesting software, tank and material support all form part of the working system. A higher axis count is not automatically the better choice; it must match the part geometry. Send representative CAD files and material samples so the proposed configuration, cutting strategy, utilities and acceptance method can be confirmed before ordering.

A typical plan considers slab cutting, sink or shape machining, edge finishing and handling. The exact combination depends on your products, materials and output. Start with a workflow and workshop layout.
A 3-axis system is generally used for planar profiles. A suitable 5-axis configuration can add inclined cutting and bevel work. Head design, control software and the confirmed application determine what a particular machine can perform.
Consider a bridge saw for sizing, an appropriate machining center or waterjet for cut-outs, and an edge polisher for the required profile. Verify the exact quartz material, drawings and finish with the equipment supplier.
