
Waterjet Cutting Machines
Waterjet cutting machines use a CNC-controlled high-pressure stream, normally with abrasive for hard materials, to follow complex two-dimensional or angled toolpaths. They are considered when a fabricator needs internal cut-outs, curves, inlays or mixed geometry that conventional saw cutting cannot complete efficiently. Selection should begin with the material, thickness, largest drawing, required edge condition and intended daily workload. The cutting head, axis arrangement, pump, abrasive system, controller, nesting software, tank and material support all form part of the working system. A higher axis count is not automatically the better choice; it must match the part geometry.
